The main objective of the Services to the Unemployed measure is to improve the options of long-term unemployed people and those most distanced from the workforce, to re-enter the labour market. This is achieved by supporting individuals and groups to take part in education, training and/or work experience opportunities that will lead to gainful and sustained employment and self-employment as well as supporting community enterprise and the social economy.

Supports under Measure A include:

a) Advice and guidance for individuals to support their participation in the labour market
b) Education and training supports for adult learners
c) Support for private enterprise, including the social economy programme
d) Research activities and the dissemination of information
e) Support for the Local Employment Service (LES)
f) Support for other networks and collaborations between groups.
